HTML5 Player Expands Video Content Access for iOS Users

CARLSBAD,Calif. - CBSSports.com College Network launched its HTML5 backup video player to expand mobile access to content in the All-Access multimedia platform.
The HTML5 video player extends the global reach of your Official Athletic Site by letting fans access your subscription All-Access product in the native Safari web browser of iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad. Web users will still get the Flash version of your All-Access product.
The HTML5 video player supports all on-demand video content. Live video in the HTML5 video player is also supported for iOS devices with the availability of an HLS-encoded source stream. Partners with an Official Mobile App through CBSSports.com College Network will automatically have their live video transcoded to HLS as part of the app program.
Fans and subscribers won't have to do anything different to access video content through a mobile web browser on iOS devices. An auto-detection script will determine if the user is browsing your Official Athletic Site on an iOS device and present the HTML5 player accordingly.
